Welcome Reverened Lucy
Rev Lucy Harris grew up in the Presbyterain church in North Carolina, a minister's daughter, and was very active in youth group, Sunday School and choir. After graduating high school, Lucy traveled the country and worked in many capacities - forest fire fighter, woodcarver, textile artist, musician, and more, all while seeing this great country of ours and taking in lots of live music.
After returning to school and graduating from Old Dominion University in Virginia, she spent svereal years doing youth ministry, teaching Sunday School, and serving as a ruling elder in Wilmington NC, before attending Union Theological Seminary in Richimond VA from 2000-2003.
Ordained in 2004, she served four congregations, a Unitarian congregation in Richmond; First presbyterian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma; First Presbyterian in Warrensburg, NY; and Kingsbury Baptist in NY. She was also the organizing pastor of the New Worshipping Community Adirondack Church Walls from 2015-2019. Rev. Harris retired honorably in February 2022.
Shortly thereafter, she began supply preaching on occasion for Northville United Presbyterian, followed by a period of serving as Stated Supply, and now she has become the installed pastor there. Lucy looks forward to enhancing our congregational life, as well as our community connections, and reaching out to those who may be seeking a faith family, or even just exploring questions of faith and spirituality. She will be in the office at the church on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and invites members and neighbors to stop in to say hi or to chat.
Lucy has two adult daughters and four young grandchildren, with whom she tries to spend as much time as busy schedules allow. She currently lives in North Creek where she spends much of her free time playing and singing music, rafting, fishing, hiking, skiiing, and working as a guide for Revolution Rail.
